In 2005, the Central Bank of Brazil in Fortaleza, Ceará. The fact was only noticed early in the day on Monday 8 August. It was the seventh largest bank robbery in the world and the largest bank robbery in Brazilian history. The excavation to make the tunnel that allowed the invasion took about three months.
The Federal Police estimates the weight of stolen notes on 3,5 tons and approximately 164 million reais (USD 69,8 million) were stolen.
They even made a movie about It.
