  1. You talk as though works with these tropes actually exist in these universes. It’s like wondering why people in the early parts of The Walking Dead didn’t know what Zombies were when it’s explicitly stated as a universe where Zombie fiction doesn’t exist. Then there’s the ones who were genuinely out of the loop, which in such settings is exactly WHY those decisions get made.

  2. James was already suspicious of the letter but he just felt compelled to go to silent hill, probably out of nostalgia and grief. Him going there despite not knowing if it was from her or not is kind of the point, he doesnt care he just wants the chance to maybe see his wife again.

  3. No mention of the protagonist of Condemned Criminal Origins? He has been framed for murder, so he proceeds to do the only thing that will exonerate him… commit mass-murder!
