No wonder there’s nothing but complaints in the comments, a top 10 of games every gamer should try at least once is just too small ! A top 20 or even 50 would do this much more justice, there’s just too many.
There are some silly comments on here though… Like Persona, seriously ? Those games are fine, but one can live their life without ever touching one and be just fine, it’s nowhere near the level it should be to be on such list.
These are a few examples of games that were marking and/or unique enough to be on such list… The original Pac-Man, the classic Sonic games, Grand Theft Auto, Zelda, Half-Life, the original arcade Donkey Kong, Call of Duty 1 or 2 (before they milked it dry basically), Super Mario 1-2-3-World, Mortal Kombat, any golden-age classic PC MMO (like EverQuest for example), Doom, Earthworm Jim, Another World, the original Pokemon gen 1 or 2 GameBoy games, Street Fighter II, any classic PC RPG (like Fallout 1 or 2), classic JRPGs (like Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy), Halo 1 or 2, Donkey Kong Country, Portal 1, MegaMan 1, Metal Gear Solid, Assassin’s Creed 1 or 2, Eidos Tomb Raider, Oddworld Abe’s Oddyssey, and I could go on !
