Definitely was not the first bombing by the police ever. The Osage Avenue bombing was by the Philadelphia Police Department in 1985. They decided to bomb a bunker built by a cult (MOVE) on the roof. Then a fire happened and they decided not to extinguish it right away. Damn near half the neighborhood burnt down. Great documentary on them too.
