how was Lafou an openly gay character? He never claimed to be in the film, he admitted to bring in relationships with women, Josh Gad said the script never said he was gay. Also he was an eccentric and flamboyant frenchman from the middle ages who emulated a man that was in love with himself. even the half second scene at the end could be explained by his clumsiness when everyone is spinning away from their dance partner because in the very next shot he’s with a woman again. If he is gay, it’s not openly.
