  1. One small detail missed in Saving Private Ryan is that Gaparzo gets shot by the sniper. The sniper has the entire squad in his line of sight but was waiting to see who their commander was.

    When Gaparzo pointed, he assumed he was the commander.

    Earlier in the film, it makes that very point about officers being targets.

    Also Gaparzo contrasted from the other squad members by not wearing a helmet.

    Very subtle details by Mr.Spielberg. I applaud you.

  2. All these years and I never new that about Saving Private Ryan. That’s actually a pretty amazing scene. I mean talk about a slow burn to get your point across.
