I’m pretty sure that the people that hated FFXIII:LR because of the time restraints never actually played the game. In order to effectively beat the game, you need to do the sidequests which in turn gives you more time and, somewhat, clears up the some of the plot points.
All that said, the entire series wasn’t a great. To me, it had the replayability of, let’s say, FFXII.
