  1. What about the 2011 Japan earthquake which caused a tsunami?
    Or, what about the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco?
    Even, what about the 1988 earthquake in San Francisco?
    I’m just saying there are a lot of recent earthquakes that did kill many and do a lot of damage too.

    1. Samuel Mcclymont Well, we based this list strictly on the number of casualties and, surprisingly, even the 2011 Japanese quake fell short quite a bit.

  3. whenever i read or see or listen about the earthquake / tsunami in 2004 in indonesia i just start crying.

    that aside since you mentioned it was one of the highest recorded quake. is there or will there be a Top 10 of highest recorded quakes? im quite interested in that.
