Ehhh you said Ash but any character from Pokemon must be almost immortal, because Blastoise can pierce by his water cannon a thick steel wall, and how many times were people or Pokemon hit by it ? Or Magcargo, his body temperature is around 10000°C, that is almost ten times of actual magma and even little girl were still able to hug it!
