Nikola Tesla should be on this list.
Died penniless and relatively unknown to the world outside of his direct field, which he wasn’t very well known in either. He has probably had the greatest contribution to modern science to date.

The fact that Franz Kafka is only just an honourable mention is blasphemy to all literates. xD

Why isnt watchmojo on this list?
Why is no one talking about the death of Robert Falcon Scott. The first British person to launch an expedition to reach the south pole.
In 1911 the British and the Russians had a race to the pole. The Russians won, much to the dismay of Scott and his party when they found a Russian flag left behind on the pole. On the way back he and his team all perished. It was only after the news of his death did he become a famous celebrated hero, and have statues of him put up. some say, if he did come back alive after the defeat, then people would of looked at him as a looser and a failure. Now that’s rough. Die, or be called a failure for the rest of your live.
