dreams: dreams are a way to cope with real life
Question: What happens after you die?
Answer: You never know for certain if you yourself are going to die. Yes, as a conscious being you see the people around you dying but how do you know for certain that you are going to die. Maybe one day you’ll find out that you are an immortal and you’ll just continue aging until you turn back into a baby (like a jellyfish). Come to think of it we never can know 100% if something is going to happen until it does. The only thing keeping the Earth from spontaneously combusting is just how unlikely that is to happen. What’s to say that when you drop an apple, that’s the moment that some force in the universe we don’t know of, can’t understand, or even begin to imagine suddenly reverses gravity, and rather than falling the apple goes in the opposite direction of which you expected it to.
Question: Why are we here?
Answer: The question should be are we really here? Are our thoughts our own? For all we know we’re are just acting out a play for some sentient being. We may be as real as the animations we create. What is “here”? What is the plane we live in which we call our universe? Sometimes you don’t know when you are dreaming but you do know when you are awake, what if our entire life is just one long dream, with the contrast between dreaming in this universe and existing in this dream state the only way we can discern what we call reality. For all we know we may as well be in the Matrix, and the robots who put us here created that movie as one big inside joke.
Question: What makes us human?
Answer: Collective learning, the only thing that we have which no other species that we know of has.
