Ok, I know this isn’t to do with this topic, but I experienced something that has scarred my life since the event. About 4 years ago a was home alone while my mom was going to Walmart to pick my dad up because he was drunk. While I was at home, my tap was dripping so I went to check it out. I thought nothing of it at the time but then I heard a knock at the door. I was told never to answer the door to anyone, not even if it’s someone I know, so I stayed seated. The dripping got louder every time I went closer to the door, a bit like the game hot and cold. It had been an hour and the dripping was still getting louder when I was nearer the door and the person outside was still knocking. Stupidly, I opened the door to see who it was. A strange man let himself in and sat on the sofa, holding a knife and a dead cat in his hand. He told me, “You should have listened to the dripping” and sliced the knife at my arm. My mom got home shortly after and saw my arm bleeding loads. I screamed that it was the man on the sofa (who I still saw), when my mom told me, “There is no man, hun. Why on earth would you cut yourself?!”. I kept telling her the man was there and he did it but my mom then took me to the doctors and said I’ve been hallucinating and cutting. Now and again I still hear dripping, but I’ll never forget that night and no longer feel safe in my own home. Talk about a long comment…
