  1. Dante, Dante’s Inferno: In trying to rescue his beloved from Lucifer, he ends up breaking the chains that actually keep Lucifer bound in Hell and releasing him. Oops.

Commander Shepard: By saving the galaxy from one reaper (and the collectors in Mass Effect 2), Shepard actually ends up making all if humanity the special focus of the Reapers’ inevitable destruction. Ummm….

Vito Corleone, Mafia II: When him and Joe try to score a little extra in the later stages of the game, they end up nearly causing a whole intergang war and putting big targets on their backs. Ouch…

  2. How about Sora from Kingdom Hearts? Yes, he did kill Ansem and Xemnas, leaders of Heartless and Nobodies, but he…
    A. never killed the heartless and nobodies for good, even though he is able to thanks to his keyblade
    B. Almost became another host of Xehanort
    C. Brought back Xehanort by accident by killing his heartless and nobody

So he may have saved the worlds twise, but also caused it to be threatened 1 of the times (fueled nobodies by giving them hearts) and brought back someone who was mere seconds from causing a war that would lead to complete destruction: The Keyblade War.

  3. Didn’t Mojo make a Top ten where you unknowingly play as the bad guy in a video game and half of these were on that list pretty phucking lazy mojo…

  4. What about Samus? She eradicated all the Metroids on SR388, letting their natural pray, the x parasites, reproduce unchecked in the natural ecosystem, which led to,Samus being infected by said x in fusion.

  5. No mention of Hawke from Dragon Age II, who single-handedly exposed the world to corrupted lyrium, fueled a global civil war, and accidentally-on-purpose freed a pseudo-god who nearly destroys the world in the next game?

  6. How about the majority of Final Fantasy main characters? It seems like every villain in the series can only do what they want to do because the dumb ass protagonist unwittingly helps them out.
